There is a sense of history here. People who grew up in the neighborhood recount small childhood stories of playing in Warner and Lora Pomerene's yard...of being invited into the house for tea...about sitting in the high-ceilinged rooms...about cookies. The stories are always told with an air of significance.
Fast forward: two young women walked into the Pomerene Center one evening for an event and immediately assumed the playful "airs and graces" of women of significance. It is hard not to feel transformed when you walk into this classic Greek Revival home.
