Dogwood Festival 2011
200 YEARS MOVING FORWARD
A Community Celebration of the Visual, Performing and Literary Arts
April 29-May 7, 2011
During the nine days of Dogwood Festival our community choir will sing, our community theater will perform, our community writers will host a regional workshop, our quilters, carvers and visual artists will showcase their talents, our school music ensembles will entertain us on the court square lawn and in a special 1811 musical performance, an OSU student string quartet will perform side by side with community vocalists. Working with stories and images from the past (in the 1950's gathered by the local History Discussion Group) and imaginings of themselves as they will be in the future, 3rd grade students from throughout the county will create banners celebrating our Dogwood Festival Bicentennial theme 200 years Moving Forward.
