From the beginning of time artistic expression has been an integral part of civilization. Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, African tribal art - the Mayan and Aztec cultures - have all depicted a deep and spiritual understanding of everyday life through their art.

I began work as an artist in order to express myself. I feel my connection to earth and spirit is portrayed through my folk art sculptures.

I like working with newspaper and Mod Podge - using my glue gun as a favorite tool until a piece feels complete. I frequently reminisce about childhood creations made out of clay and feel very satisfied when my sculpting is going well.

I always begin a piece by thinking about the finished project and the compliments I hope to receive from people who see my work.
