reservations
Extraordinary old azalea on the north side of the house is the first bloom on the Pomerene lawn.
Sherry Gardner talks with Julie Uhl after her lecture A Martha Stewart Garden on a Sherry Gardner Budget. Gardner had her audience laughing as she told tails of her trials and tribulations while trying to achieve that Martha Stewart garden look. April 16th's presenter Jeff Bazell recieved kudos from Gardner who said she would go anywhere to hear him speak. She commented on the breadth of his gardening knowledge. Gardening is in Bazell's blood. One of his grandmothers was an accomplished formal gardner, the other, a mountain woman with indigenous knowledge.
Lectures are held at the Pomerene Center for the Arts the third Wednesday of the month, March through May. The Center opens at 6:30 pm for a charming buffet of beverages & finger foods with lectures starting promptly at 7pm.
Cost $40 for the series $15 per lecture. Reservations limited: 40 people
Proceeds support the restoration and enhancement of the Pomerene Center grounds. Last November, the Town & Country Garden Club planted the 1st 'pod' of what will eventually be a group of community gardens, pieced together somewhat like a quilt, with many hands and many creative ideas.
