1862 50c Greensboro Mutual Life Insurance & Trust - Greensburough, NC - Very Fine KM. 464 Edge serratedGreensboro is spelled two different ways on this appealing 50 wallpaper note from the Civil War era. Green, red, and black inks were used for this piece. Printing company Sterling, Campbell & Albright of Greensboro was formed at the beginning of the Civil War. They sent a Frenchman to England to obtain stereotypes and the equipment was sent to North Carolina on a Confederate blockade runner named the Advance. Paper was obtained from several North
