Similar in color to Sugilite, Charoite is less transparent, or translucent, but exhibits varying degrees of chatoyancy. Not unlike silky, fibrous malachite! Initial discoveries did not appreciate Charoite, but once it was polished a newfound appreciation for it was discovered.
