Wall installation of figures created with Amy Rich by students at Mercy Montessori students grades 4-8

May 7-11, as part of Dogwood Festival 2012, IN UNUSUAL PLACES.

We’ve invited artist Amy Rich to help 3rd graders throughout the county transform bits and pieces of outgrown clothing into “little story people.”  As  the children work they’ll have the opportunity to share their our own stories. We’ll emphasize how their  stories are really little histories. Over the weeks following the workshop the “story people” will appear almost magically “In Unexpected Places”-declaring themselves and their student creators as an important part of our community as a whole.
