Summer is for dancing in the street. Year 4 — 1st concert

CHARDON POLKA BAND. May 30. in the artPARK Polka class 7p. Music starts at 8p

These guys…these polka punks…this eccentric gang…this genuine oom-pah style CHARDON POLKA BAND can turn anything into a Polka. They’ve been doing it since 2003. This is what happens when there’s no place for an accordion player in the local high school marching band and a 16 year old kid pulls a mismatched group of teenagers together so he can play. Beware! Polka anywhere. Case in point see video below.

FAQs Some tongue-in-cheek. Some not.

QUESTIONWhy should I come? ANSWER: The music is great. They have an alpine horn. Plus social dancing brings people together, whether with old friends, romantic friends… you might even make a new friend or two.

QUESTION: Is that good? ANSWER: Haven’t you ever wondered why people who are dancing can’t help but smile?

QUESTIONCan you prove this?  ANSWER:  If we were to sum up the atmosphere we’d say our street dances feel something like wedding receptions- people of all ages having fun. If you’re skeptical, come check it out.

QUESTION: What if I can’t dance? ANSWER: NO PROBLEM! Dance instructor Tim Cohen will be joining us to offer crash polka dance class. Polka’s not hard. Classes start at 7pm, an hour before the music begins. Tim has taught dance professionally in Columbus, Millersburg and — now in his current community of residence — Coshocton, Ohio.
