WHO DREAMS ABOUT ANTS

We love this block cut by Erik Neff who grew up in Coshocton.  Erik studied entomology (the study of insects) and became an artist. This is not an ant but rather a tiny (2-3mm long) ant parasite called a eucharitid wasp.

WHO DREAMS ABOUT ANTS

Little Pom Artists will be exploring block printing this spring as they illustrate a poem by William Blake. He dreamt about an ant.

The poem, A DREAM, tells the story of an ant who has lost her way in the tangled grass and cries for her children in the dark. But not to despair — she’s rescued by a glow worm who lights her way and a beetle who “goes his round.”

Together, our little artist children will work on illustrations to tell the story of William Blake’s dream. They’ll print multiple copies to put in a small book—one for each little pom artist.

LITTLE POM ARTISTS CLUB (grades k-4) meets Monday afternoon @ 4pm.  WHO DREAMS ABOUT ANTS runs March 11 — April 15 (6wks). DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND we’re adding a second chapter of the club Monday evening @ 5:30pm. runs March 25 — April 29(6wks)
