
Chasing Rainbows

What happens if you chase a rainbow? Look at the world through rose colored glasses? Or find yourself face to face with a horse of a different color? Join us Thursday mornings in the artPARK to find out. DATES: May 29, June 5, 12, 19, 26, July 3, 10, 17. 10am. —. No cost, thanks to the Charles E. and Dorothy S Bechtol Fund at the Coshocton Foundation.
Each Thursday families coming to the artPARK will explore color in a new and active way with paints, dyes, fabric, a pony, and lots of other things we find. Each session, in addition to taking something made home, families will make art to leave behind for the public in the artPARK.
Take a look at the list of activities and mark your calendars for the weeks that work for you. Sign up for each session opens at 11am the week prior to that session. Space is limited. Follow the Pomerene Center for the Arts facebook page to make sure you don’t miss out. May 29 – The world through rose colored glasses. We’ll make our own very ‘stylish’ glasses.
June 5 – Green thumb. We’ll be creating small garden sculptures to make your plants happy.
June 12 – Chasing rainbows. We’ll be playing with prisms and chalks.
June 19 – A horse of a different color. Local groomer Rachel Bice of Daffodil Hill will join us for this one.
June 26 – Tickled pink, kind of blue. A little art history in this session. We’ll look at Picasso’s Pink and Blue period portraits before launching into our own.
July 3 – Red Flag, White Flag, Blue Flag. We’ll decorate bicycle helmets to wear for the second annual AROUND THE COURT SQUARE BICYCLE PARADE on Friday, July 4 with the Coshocton Community Band.
July 10 – Brown bag. Using cyan, magenta and yellow paint we’ll mix beautiful colors of brown and work a color changing magic trick.
July 17 – With flying colors. Another sculpting project. We’ll make small clay birds with fantastic wings.
